Draft — pending legal review
This document describes VPI SafetyOS's actual current data practices as accurately as possible, but it has not been reviewed by legal counsel and should not be relied on as a final, binding policy until it has.
Effective August 20, 2026
These terms govern use of VPI SafetyOS, provided by Vision Performance Inc. ("VPI," "we"). By creating an account or being added as a user by your organization, you agree to these terms. If you're using the platform on behalf of an organization, you're confirming you have authority to accept these terms for that organization.
VPI SafetyOS is a health-and-safety management platform: incident and hazard reporting, audits and inspections, permits, training and document tracking, and related recordkeeping. It's a tool to help your organization run its own safety program — it doesn't replace your organization's own judgment, your qualified safety personnel, or your legal obligations under applicable occupational health and safety law. Nothing in the platform constitutes legal or safety advice, and features like automatic scoring or classification are aids, not a substitute for a competent person's review.
You agree not to:
Records your organization creates in the platform belong to your organization. We process them to provide the service (see the Privacy Policy) and don't claim ownership over them. If your organization's account ends, you can request an export of your organization's data (Settings → General → Export, for admins) before closure.
We aim to keep the platform available and responsive, including for time-sensitive features like emergency alerts, but — like any hosted software — cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability. Your organization should maintain its own offline/backup procedure for the safety-critical moments where connectivity or the platform itself cannot be assumed to be available (this is also why core field-reporting flows are designed to work offline and sync once reconnected).
This section is placeholder language pending legal drafting — liability and warranty terms for a safety-critical platform need to be written and reviewed by counsel, not adapted from a generic template. Until that happens, treat this section as not yet finalized rather than as VPI's actual position.
Your organization can stop using the platform at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account for a clear violation of the acceptable-use terms above, or as required by law, and will make reasonable efforts to notify your organization's admin first except where we're not able to (e.g. a legal requirement to act immediately).
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Alberta.
If we make a material change, we'll update the effective date above and notify organization admins directly for anything significant.
